ORT’s Computer Support and Networking Technology program is designed to prepare students to be qualified entry level Computer Support technicians and Network Administrators. Graduates are able to repair PC based computers, install, troubleshoot, operate and administer PC hardware and software. When you complete ORT’s training you will be able to provide basic support for office application programs. You will also become proficient in Computer Networking, learn to troubleshoot Windows systems and perform essential PC support tasks and Network administration. Every business needs an IT professional who can unravel basic computer and networking issues. Your skills will be in high demand. The U.S. Department of Labor Statistic forecasts that opportunities in the Computer Networking and Support field will increase 18 to 26 percent faster than the average for all jobs until 2014. ORT’s Computer Support & Networking students must be high school graduates or equivalent, pass the school's entrance exam and be interviewed by the Admissions Department. Class size is limited to one student per computer and you will be trained on software and equipment that is standard in your field. To ORT provides small class sizes to promote increased learning speed and retention. The average class size is 12 students. The program is taught 5 hours per day, 4 days per week, or 20 hours per week for 35 weeks. The evening classes are taught 4.5 hours per each session four times a week or 18 hours per week 40 weeks.
