ESL Teacher:

ORT Technical Institute in Skokie is seeking part-time ESL instructors. Classes are held weekday mornings M-F and weekday evenings M-Th, with additional opportunities in our Learning Resource Center and new afternoon classes. We are looking for instructors with a minimum of a BA and/or an MA in TESOL or related fields, and experience teaching ESL to adults.

ESL Lab Assistant:

  • This position is to help ESL students use the computer and navigate English learning software.
  • The candidate will be trained on Blended Learning Methodology using the software and the Learning Management system introduced at ORT Technical Institute.
  • Ability to speak another language may be helpful.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Assist each student with starting and using ESL software or website.
2. Facilitate obtaining personal ID on Learning Management System and regular signing in and out and make sure all students have done this.
3. Monitor students to be sure they are having success and are using an appropriate program.
4. Informally tutor students who are waiting to use a computer or studying in the lab.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

 

Strong computer skills, knowledge of Learning Management system,  ability to assist

students navigating learning software.

Academic Dean:

 

Zarem Golde ORT Technical Institute, an ACCET accredited independent higher education vocational and English language school in Skokie, has an immediate opening for a full-time Academic Dean.  Responsibilities include supervision and administrative oversight for instructional programs and faculty, curricular review and revision, completion and submission of required applications and forms to maintain institutional accreditation and state approval, and ensure overall compliance throughout the Institute with accreditation, Title IV, IBHE and ISBE requirements. 

 

The successful candidate will possess a minimum of a MA degree in Education or related field, excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.  Experience in the vocational school system, with new program design and development and accreditation are required.  Familiarity with technical and medical education a plus.
